It's Wednesday which means we've made it half way through the week, rejoice! My schedule is getting wild at Kuzak's Closet. It seems all of my clients have decided to move at the same time. The phone has also been ringing off the hook with new clients hoping to get organized before the end of the year. Being busy is a good problem to have so I can't complain. Life is good! Life is also good with a little treat at the end of the day, and this Almond Joy Bark hits the spot. It tastes just like the real deal! ... Keep Reading >>
Healthy Homemade Tailgate Dip Trio
I've been on The Plan (a low inflammatory diet) for the last 45+ days and I'm loving it. It starts with a 3 day cleanse which is followed by a regimented 20 day meal plan. I know it sounds terrible but it's worth it in the end. Once the 20 days is up it's up to you to take what you've learned and create a lifestyle from it. I was a bit worried that it would cut into my tailgate treat obsession but I've learned to work new healthy recipes into my lifestyle. The changes that I've made to my diet have made a world of ... Easy Lemon Garlic Chicken
I hope you all had a great weekend! I am still exhausted from last week's estate sale in Los Altos. I negotiated so many deals that I think I am still wheeling and dealing in my dreams. We had a huge turnout and the almost sold ever single item, amazing! This week I have lots of organizing projects lined up and a few estate sale consultations that I am hoping will bring me more fun sales this fall. One of the consultations is at a large property near my house in the hills, it involves a former antique dealing hoarder with an ... Keep Reading >>
Summer Corn Chowder
I hope you all had a great weekend. We went out to dinner for our 7th wedding anniversary (which is actually today) and just had a quiet weekend around the house. I just started "The Plan" yesterday so I'm on a 3 day cleanse. The plan is all about identifying which foods aren't healthy for your body's chemistry. After the short cleanse I will start to introduce food items one day at a time to see if I have a reaction. Ever since I found out that I have an inflammatory problem last year I've been sticking to a list of good ... Keep Reading >>
Baked Shrimp Scampi
I've been taping all of the Barefoot Contessa cooking shows and watching a few episodes each night before I go to bed. I thought it would be a good alternative to all of the junk that is on television these days, especially reality TV. Most of the episodes are reruns but at this point in my Ina obsession I don't mind. A few weeks ago I ran across an episode that I'd never seen about Italian entertaining. Ina prepped a dinner party in advance for her friends (I pretend that I am one of them) and one of the dishes was baked ... Keep Reading >>
Rhubarb Crumble Bars
Sorry I didn't post this recipe last week like I promised, it was a busy holiday at out house. I hope you all had a relaxing 4th of July with your friends and family. Because we move around so often the 4th is typically a holiday that we spend alone so I'm thankful that we were able to spend the weekend with some of the friends that we've made. The highlight was definitely a hike from Muir Woods to Stinson Beach, my legs are still sore! I tried this recipe for Rhubarb crumble bars for my husband's birthday party and they were ... Easy Asparagus Side Dish
Asparagus is in season right now and I have been loading up on it at our Farmer's Market. Usually I grill it with mushrooms or roast it in the oven with summer squash but over the 4th of July I decided to kick it up a notch and try something new. I got the idea to add olives, almonds, and parmesan cheese in a magazine and I'm so glad I tried it, it was so delicious. You can either roast it or put it in a grill basket on the grill. Here is the recipe... ... Keep Reading >>
Mediterranean Pantry Pasta
Last week I had a long day and I had no idea what I was going to make for dinner. I was watching the Food Network and the Pioneer Woman came on and said she was making pantry pasta. Instantly my dinner dilemma was solved, I took her advice and pulled basic items from my pantry to make a really yummy dinner. I had shallots to use up, garlic, pasta, olives, tomatoes, pesto, and pine nuts so I decided to make a mediterranean pasta. The sauce was similar to a bolognese, the olives were meaty and salty. Here is a look at the ... Keep Reading >>
Lo Carb Stir Fry
Today I am sharing a quick and easy lo carb recipe that I am loving right now. We've tried it with a variety of veggies, typically what is in season or available at our farmers market. The sauce is tangy but not overpowering and it leaves me full at the end of a long day. Serve it with brown rice or quinoa, I especially love the frozen brown rice from Trader Joe's that heats up in 3 minutes, it's like magic! ... Keep Reading >>
