A few weeks ago I shared the before and afters from a closet makeover that I recently worked on and the some of the details about my client, a self-professed Shopaholic. After I published the post I received great feedback via email, blog comments, and facebook comments (thank you) which really made my client feel good about the progress that she made. Many of you wanted to know more about how she prepared to let go and start the organizing process so I interviewed her after our last session and I hope you can relate to her ... Keep Reading >>
Small Closet, Big Changes
One of the projects I worked on this week was a small closet in my client's master bedroom. She uses it for extra linens, extra beauty products, and jewelry. At 3 feet deep the shelves offer lots of storage. The key to organizing a space like this is thinning out the clutter and positioning high use items in the front and low use items in the back. My client is the "shopaholic" client that I wrote about last week. She is familiar with my process and because she has done so much work to prepare to let go the process went ... Keep Reading >>
Confessions of a Shopaholic
I have been working with a self-professed shopaholic for the last few months and the experience has been amazing. She has really been working on curbing her shopping and spending and getting down to the nitty-gritty issues so she can make a change. She isn't the first shopaholic that I have worked with over the years but she IS the first that was ready to make a change and had systems in place to help her achieve her goals. Besides working with me she is working with a therapist and a financial coach and it has made such a ... Keep Reading >>
It Pays to be Organized
Whether it’s holding an Estate Sale or listing items on Craigslist and eBay, I am always selling something online for my clients. The back of my truck is always full of treasures that I bring home from my organizing sessions and I love that it puts money back in my client’s pockets.Putting these posts together is fun for me because it helps me create a history and timeline of what has been sold (I have spreadsheets but blogging is much more fun!) Below are a few of the items I have sold over the last few weeks. I never know what ... Keep Reading >>

Home Organization When You Lose a Loved One
I started working on a large home organization project last week and I wanted to share the process just in case you are in the same situation as my clients (a brother and sister) who lost their mother two years ago. They have decided that it is time to sell her home which means the home needs to be cleared out before it can go on the market. A few months after she passed away they had a junk removal service come to take away items that definitely needed to be disposed of. As they sorted they boxed up the items like ... Keep Reading >>
Top 12 Most Popular Projects of 2012
Last year was a wonderful year for Kuzak's Closet and I have a lot to be thankful for. I exceeded all of my business goals by leaps and bounds and am looking forward to what is headed my way in 2013. Yesterday I had two people contact me about organizing estate sales for them so that is a good start! I typically post the top blog posts of the year by now but there hasn't been a free spot on the blog in the last few weeks. Today I wanted to look back and see which posts from 2012 were most popular with all of you. Here is the ... Keep Reading >>
3 Year Blogiversary and Top 3 Posts of 2012
This week marked the 3 year anniversary of my very first blog post. I started blogging with thoughts of sharing something new once a week but 809 posts later I have almost blogged 5 days a week. Thank you for letting me share my journey as a business owner in California, my experiences as a California girl, all of my recipes, and stories and transformations from my organizing projects and estate sales. Today I wanted to take a quick look back at the top three posts from the last year. My DIY picture frame tops the list, a ... Keep Reading >>
Garage Transformation
Last month I started working with a new client who has a long list of projects that she would like to tackle. After meeting with her and taking a look around her home I suggested that we start with her garage. I thought it would give her the most bang for her buck and it would really motivate her to tackle some of the smaller projects on her own. She is an organized person by nature but had become overwhelmed with the volume of items that had piled up over the years and needed someone to act as project manager and muscle. ... Keep Reading >>
