Kuzak's Closet is consistently booming in November and December so I am thinking ahead and stocking my freezer with simple meal ideas that will rescue me in a pinch. The funny thing about freezer meals, I love stocking up on food and at the same time being able to use up goodies from my pantry. I always find recipes that let me "shop" for items that I already have on hand like pasta, extra cheese, stocks and frozen veggies. The best part of having a pantry full of odds and ends, it helps me fill my freezer with complete ... Keep Reading >>
Sesame Shrimp Stirfry
I hope you all had a nice weekend! The weather was beautiful here. My team had to divide an conquer all weekend. We had 2 big projects to tackle on Saturday, an estate sale in Santa Clara and a estate liquidation in Palo Alto. Today Taylor wrapped up the Palo Alto project with the crew while I sold items out of our warehouse on Craigslist and took care of delivering the baby grand piano from last weekend's Estate Sale. It's 9am and I am finally sitting down, thank God! If you had a busy weekend like me and didn't have time ... Keep Reading >>
Simple Mediterranean Pizza
If you are looking for a simple recipe to get you through another week you'll love this simple mediterranean pizza. It's one of the recipes I taught my assistant Jennalynn how to make on Friday afternoon during our DIY fun. I had her go create the shopping list, check off the items I already had in the pantry, and then and hit the grocery store. All important skills for a young lady to learn! The recipe uses Naan bread for the crust cutting down the baking time significantly. I love using Naan, it crisps up and each piece ... Keep Reading >>
Easy Lemon Garlic Chicken
I hope you all had a great weekend! I am still exhausted from last week's estate sale in Los Altos. I negotiated so many deals that I think I am still wheeling and dealing in my dreams. We had a huge turnout and the almost sold ever single item, amazing! This week I have lots of organizing projects lined up and a few estate sale consultations that I am hoping will bring me more fun sales this fall. One of the consultations is at a large property near my house in the hills, it involves a former antique dealing hoarder with an ... Keep Reading >>
Baked Shrimp Scampi
I've been taping all of the Barefoot Contessa cooking shows and watching a few episodes each night before I go to bed. I thought it would be a good alternative to all of the junk that is on television these days, especially reality TV. Most of the episodes are reruns but at this point in my Ina obsession I don't mind. A few weeks ago I ran across an episode that I'd never seen about Italian entertaining. Ina prepped a dinner party in advance for her friends (I pretend that I am one of them) and one of the dishes was baked ... Keep Reading >>
Mediterranean Pantry Pasta
Last week I had a long day and I had no idea what I was going to make for dinner. I was watching the Food Network and the Pioneer Woman came on and said she was making pantry pasta. Instantly my dinner dilemma was solved, I took her advice and pulled basic items from my pantry to make a really yummy dinner. I had shallots to use up, garlic, pasta, olives, tomatoes, pesto, and pine nuts so I decided to make a mediterranean pasta. The sauce was similar to a bolognese, the olives were meaty and salty. Here is a look at the ... Keep Reading >>
Stuffed Shells
I've shared this recipe for stuffed shells before but I wanted to share it again because I recently made it for a small dinner party and was able to re-photograph it. It looks much more appealing than it did in my original post 3 years ago with my old camera. ... Keep Reading >>
Shrimp with Couscous
Today I am sharing a quick recipe for shrimp with couscous. I tried it for dinner last week and it was really good. The peas and leeks screamed "Spring" to me and the couscous gave me a little carb fix, I almost thought I was eating pasta. I think it would be great with a kick of curry, grilled chicken, or other seasonal veggies depending on what you like. You could also skip the protein and serve it as a side dish. Here is the recipe... ... Keep Reading >>
