Most people consider MOVING a four letter word. And it isn’t love. Summer is the busiest family moving time, but the process doesn’t have to be a sweaty mess that ruins vacations. Moving can even be an exciting opportunity to refresh and shed unwanted items. A master closet after a recent Kuzak's Closet relocation in Portola Valley... As a professional organizer and relocation specialist I’ve learned to streamline the moving process, and I’m sharing my hard-earned tips for pre-move preparation, moving day success, and the art ... Women & Whisk(e)y at The Four Seasons Palo Alto
Last weekend the Kuzak Closet gals joined me for a fun night out at The Four Seasons for their Women and Whisk(e)y event in Palo Alto. I've attended several events at The Four Seasons and they never disappoint! This particular event intrigued me because I've never really had whisky on it's own so (aside from a few bad decisions in college) so I was interested in tasting it and trying something new. The hotel brought in a brand ambassador from Glenfiddich Whisky and she was a great speaker. She really knew her stuff and started ... Keep Reading >>
Dark Chocolate Banana Muffins
I rarely have time to bake and with the summer heat wave that we've had there hasn't been much motivation to turn the oven on. Last week the stars aligned in my kitchen that helped me use up items in my pantry while creating a special birthday treat for Taylor, my right hand gal at Kuzak's Closet. I was about to throw a few overripe bananas in the compost bin when it dawned on me that I should turn them into something great like a muffin or bread. I'm happy when those creative moments hit my mind, it was as if ... Keep Reading >>
Month In Review: August
August was a hit from the start! One of our estate sale shoppers invited the Kuzak's Closet gang out for a beach and surfing day and we took him up on it. We arrived at the Capitola Beach at 8am and spent the day enjoying the views, the water, and the company! I started our day out with an easy beach day granola recipe and it was a hit! I brought everything we needed for parfaits (yogurt, fruit, and granola), click HERE for the recipe! Looking forward to heading back to the beach this fall! Speaking of fall, my Los Altos town ... Beach Day and a Simple Quinoa Granola Recipe
One of our fabulous estate sale shoppers invited the entire Kuzak's Closet gang for a day at the beach. The original invitation came around May and we decided to finally take him up on it a few weeks ago. (I think my recent trip to Michigan inspired me to relax more). It was such a relaxing day that now I am wondering why we waited so long. I see many more beach trips in the future! I have to be honest, I've lived in California for 6 years and this was the first time I spent the day at the beach. Sad isn't it? We all ... Keep Reading >>
July Month In Review
I am always talking about my goal of more work-life balance and I feel that looking back at the month of July I am moving closer to achieving it. The month was filled with great organizing and estate projects, blog events, fun with friends, and a trip to see my family in Michigan. As a business owner I am always trying to better organize the Kuzak's Closet scheduling process and over the course of the month I think I've finally got a system that will encourage me not to try to fit in everything when it just isn't possible. ... BlogHer 2015 Recap
It's been just over a week since I returned to California from my New York BlogHer Conference and I am still tired, HA! This was my second BlogHer national conference and it didn't disappoint! The event was amazing and filled with tons of professional development, celebrity sightings, and laughs. I was also very happy to able to meet-up with my friend Nichole (who I met at last year's conference and reconnected through Instagram recently) and when I arrived in New York she introduced me to some great gals that I stuck with for ... My Michigan Trip
There is something about a trip home that really makes you relax. I didn't realize how badly I needed to unwind and take a few days off until I landed and saw my friends and family and realized I wanted to stay forever. I feel like this every time I go home and always talk myself into coming back to Cali. I know that my west coast life seems great (it is) and my business is going great (it is) and I am able to live in a climate that never sees snow (I do) but there is no place like home. Typically my husband and I move from ... Keep Reading >>
Summer Style in San Francisco
Summer is not my favorite season for fashion. I'm just not a tank top and sun dress type of gal. Lucky for me I get to wear my Kuzak's Closet uniform to work on most hot summer days and am able to escape the heat for day trips to Carmel, Half Moon Bay, and San Franscisco. A few weeks ago I headed up to the city for an afternoon of baking with SF Cooking School (see more about my class HERE). I wanted to look like I made an effort to look fashionable, (I didn't want the SF hipsters to point and stare) so I put on my go-to ... Keep Reading >>
