It was such a treat to host a bevy of sf bay area bloggers at my Holiday Hosting 101 event. Over the last year I have been making it a point to take the time to go to local blogger events so I was so happy to have some of these local creatives join me at our recent Sur La Table event. It was fun to collaborate Sur La Table’s cooking tips and my holiday organization tricks with some local holiday style.
Whether a casual gathering or a formal dinner, winter holiday style is all about how you play with textures, jewel tones and hints of sparkle. Seeing how each of my blogger pals incorporated these touches into their own holiday looks, I was able to get ideas for how to mix them into my own wardrobe and hopefully it will also help you plans some of your looks for this festive season.
A great pair of jeans and a classic sweater is a simple but chic day to night winter look. Consider purchasing a piece with texture details like a ribbed collar or a cable knit pattern. If you like, color you can’t go wrong with rich hues like oxblood or emerald. Style bloggers Cheryl of Oh To Be A Muse and Laura of Have Need Want rocked this look flawlessly. I love how Cheryl paired her cozy coat and sweater look with en trend ripped black skinny jeans. Laura’s Cranberry coordinated purse and sweater with denim was also a must-do elegantly understated holiday look.

Coats, coats and more coats! Everyone needs a great coat for the holidays! When shopping for a coat look for a neutral colored piece that can be mixed and matched with many ensembles. Also, as tempting and easy as it maybe to buy a black coat, this season its all about camel and blush. Alyson of The Beauty Vanity and Alina of Style By Alina looked fabulous in this sophisticated look.

For my party hostess look I kept it simple, having fun with a floor length skirt and added a pop of sparkle with a statement bangle. When your hosting a party don’t be afraid to stand out with your look. You are setting the tone for the event so why not make a splash with a festive ensemble. Monica of Living In Vogue. who is our special collaborations specialist in our marketing team and was part of the hosting team for the event, also choose to incorporate some statement jewels. Her vintage little black dress was embellished with a fun large gem style flower.
