I never say no to a girls night out so when my gal pal Monica asked me to be apart of a happy hour event hosted by Verge Restaurant at The Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos I marked my calendar. I’ve been to the Toll House before for a holiday event in the past but I had no idea they had such a cute patio with fire pits and an amazing menu, it is really a hidden gem!
Verge had a special table set up for us to sip and enjoy some laughs. In addition to my friend Monica, fellow bloggers Alyson, Nicole, and Paulina made great company. It was nice to chat about photography, fashion, fertility, food, and much more.
The flowers were styled by the guys at Apis Floral. I’ve gotten to see their work over the years at Bay Area events and they do the best job, if you are looking to follow someone new on Instagram I would highly recommend them. They are everywhere from Napa to Levi’s Stadium with their blooms.
I never think to do personalized menus for my dinner parties or events and these little cards made me want to in the future. There is something about having your name at your seat along with a menu of what is to come to make you feel special.
As much as it might seem like I have a vast wardrobe I really don’t when it comes to summer looks. I feel like I wear the same things over and over. We all have a season and summer is not mine, fall and winter is another story. The night of the event was not as hot as it’s been so I pulled on my navy blousy slacks and a white top. I’d been knee deep in trash all day so I was proud of my attempt to clean up for the night! I love seeing my friend Monica but it always makes me a bit nervous because she is a fashionista and I want to keep up!
Before dinner Chef Albert Nguyen-Phuoc came out to the table to welcome us and show us the herbs he used when creating our meal. I love Nicole in the background with her iphone and Canon taking pics, just a sign you are in the company of a fellow blogger…
We wet out palette with three original Verge cocktails. They were served in tall shot glasses which I thought was a cool idea. It allowed us to try everything without going over board. One the left is the passion of the fruit (my favorite), the middle is the pineapple jalapeno margarita, and the end was the lavender maker.
After cocktails was dinner and it was over the top! These pork wings came out with a side of whipped blue cheese and I could have melted in my chair. I didn’t need to eat anything else but I couldn’t help try everything that came my way.
Pork sliders…
Mushroom cobbler, my personal favorite. I think this was meant to be shared by 5 people but they brought each of us one and I am not ashamed to say I ate the entire thing.
Grilled sole…
By the end of dinner it was dark and the patio was lit up. This water feature was really pretty, the tile sparkled with the lights…
I snapped a few shots of the interior dining space on my way out just to share just in case you are looking for a swanky option in the winter. Isn’t this place gorgeous!
Well I hope you enjoyed my girls night out. I am hoping for more fun nights this fall!
