Ah, March! It’s been such a busy week that I fell behind on writing my March in review blog post and now, only 3 days into the month of April it feels like March was 2 years ago. We had an eventful month loaded with organizing sessions and estate projects. I tried my best to give you a peek inside the organizing piece of the business through my Instagram and Facebook pages as I know you are drowning in estate marketing. Both services stem from my love of organizing but the estate sales are open to the public (so you hear about them) but the organizing sessions are not because why would you want to see me or Taylor organizing a pantry?
I started my partnership with The Container Store at the beginning of the month and spent a large part of the month designing closets and creating organizing plans for new clients behind the scenes. It’s been a fun challenge and a new adventure. I haven’t worked for someone else in almost 6 years so I have to remind myself that I am not in charge and that I have to consider their brand and mission in all of the work I do with them. We have the same goals and ethics so it’s been pretty easy but there have been some adjustments. Aside from Container Store projects we started working with a handful of new families during March along with our loyal clientele thinking ahead about spring cleaning. Garages and kitchens were two main areas of focus but we also worked on a handful of home office and paperwork projects to help clients prepare for tax season.
Taylor and I mainly work with organizing clients and I am happy to let you know that I hired a new professional organizer to join the team named Tammy. I will be announcing her on the website as soon as I find a free moment but until then just know that she is wonderful and that you might see her in your own home soon!
Monica has been keeping on my toes with special events and collaborations with Stitch Fix and Williams Sonoma during March. Kuzak’s Closet often works with local businesses and brands for blog and marketing promotion and it is a fun change of pace during this busy time. It’s also fun to get dressed up a little bit and have some fun with the Kuzak gals!
Estate sales and liquidation mania was the theme of March and it continues into April. This week alone we have 4 sales and my calendar is getting booked out more and more everyday. It’s so busy that I even toyed with the idea of offering 2 liquidations in 1 day, now wouldn’t that be wild! I was thinking we could do a 9-11am and then a 1-3pm, I just need to figure out how you will all have enough time to unload your goodies to make room in between the sales. Yesterday’s sale in Los Altos was amazing, we had a line all of the way down the street to get in and shoppers were as excited as the Kuzak’s Closet gang to shop. Today and tomorrow we will be in Sunnyvale so I hope you stop by to see my wild crew. We all work so hard but have fun doing what we do!
My little gal is inspiring me to slow down and take a nap, I am actually taking a day off next week just to spend with her and my husband because they are starting to forget what I look like. Isn’t she just a doll! She went to the groomer last week so she has a fresh cut for spring, she’ll be 10 next month but she still looks like a pup!
As busy as I am I am working on life balance. I’m failing a little bit but I should get some credit for effort. Right now I am writing this blog post when I should be snuggled on the couch with Harper listening to my husband tell me about his day but I know that if I don’t get this written I will fall behind until next month.
I hope to see you at an upcoming sale or at an organizing session soon! The calendar is pretty crazy right now so if you are looking for service please let me know right away so we can try to fit you in. Until then enjoy the month of April with me, it is going to be a busy one!
