Another key part of smart packing this summer season is organizing toiletries and makeup. For part two of our Summer Travel Organization Series, determining product size and streamlining a beauty routine are two essential things to learn for a stress-free packing experience.
Kuzak’s Closet Tips
In this week’s edition of Hot or Not!? we mentioned some great stackable cosmetic organizer trays from the Container Store that are also very helpful when packing. Place samples you receive from beauty boxes in them, thus when you are packing you can pick and choose some samples to try. For example, you might dabble in a seasonal summer lip color or new summer scent. Small and compact they are great toss-able alternatives to taking your lipstick or perfume collection. Also, take advantage of the mini travel isle at your drug store! Pack small versions of your favorite products. They take up less space and can easily be recycled at the end of the trip. Both of these tips will guarantee you room in your suitcase to fit more goodies to bring home!

Hi! This is Alyson from Beauty Vanity, a beauty blog based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I thought I’d share some pointers I’ve picked up along the way on how to streamline your travel makeup. It’s vacation season and the sun is shining, so let’s get packing!
Color Palette: Just like packing your wardrobe, choose a color palette and stick to it when you pack your makeup. For me, coral is a no brainer when it comes to my skintone (it looks good with a tan) and as you can see here, my blush, lipstick and nail polish are all coral while the rest are neutral.
Multitaskers: Bring products that have multiple purposes to cut down on space. My LORAC Pro palette has many looks and uses slimmed down into this one palette. From creating a soft neutral day look to a sultry smoky eye, this palette has got me covered. A huge bonus in this palette? I can use the soft brown shade to fill in my brows and the champagne shade as a face highlighter too! I can also wear The Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm two ways: straight from the tube for a super bold lip or as a sheer gloss mixed with my favorite lip balm.
Essentials: Bring the items you absolutely cannot live without and bring those only. For me, I’ll always need a foundation, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and nail polish (touch-ups). And although I’d like to bring that cobalt blue eyeliner I love so much, I know I won’t be in dire need of it when I’m on vacay.
I’m curious, what are some essential beauty products you bring with you when you’re on vacation?
Thanks for having me on the blog!
xx Alyson
