Kuzak’s Closet has been working on several home organization projects involving clients relocating from one home to another lately. I love helping clients strategize, space plan, and set up their new homes in an organized way. It’s such an opportunity for them to have a fresh start and a new perspective on the items they love and how they store them.
Kuzak’s Closet relocation services are a great value because we are able to unpack and organize an entire home in 2-3 days. I typically bring 3-4 of my team members to help me speed up the process. Sometimes we work on a space together as a team, and other times we divide and conquer.
I do meet with the clients prior to their move so I can help clear the clutter and start the packing process. This allows me to understand their organizing habits and preferences and the volume of things they are moving so I can best plan where items should live in their new space.
Over the weekend I tackled a large relocation for a client moving from Atherton to Menlo Park. My team worked with me to get her kitchen, 2 kids rooms, 1 kids bathroom, the master closet, bath, and bedroom unpacked and organized. It’s like a ripping off a bandaid, we move so fast you hardly know we were there.
Today I wanted to share a quick post revealing the photos of the master closet. It turned out so beautiful, almost like a picture from a magazine. My client decided to add a pop of color with orange paint to jazz up the space, doesn’t it look like a boutique? You know how much I love orange!
My client and I organized and purged her closet at her old house prior to moving day. This made it so much easier to unpack her and set up the space. I had an understanding of how many categories we needed to store and which items she uses the most.
In her old closet she had a small shoe rack making it difficult to find a matching pair and protect her pricey pumps. The shelves in her new closet display her shoes so nicely. Now she can see exactly what she has!
My assistant Jennalynn snapped this picture of me in action! I love setting up and organizing closets like this one! I wish I would have taken more pictures of the rest of the storage space for you. Adjacent from the walk closet is a large built-in system with shelves and drawers where I stored scarves, swimwear, bras and undies, tanks, and t-shirts.
She has a great handbag collection and I wanted it to be a focal point when she walks into the closet. I used extra packing paper to stuff the bags so they can maintain their shape and look good on the shelf. I placed wallets and clutches in a drawer and more casual bags on additional shelves on the right side of the closet.
In her old closet she had beautiful silk scarves on hangers hiding behind sweatshirts and sweaters. In this space I decided to store and display them in a drawer. This way they are more accessible and more protected from snags and dust.
Just a few more pictures of the organized space. I wish I would have taken 100 more but we were working on a deadline! Enjoy this inspiration and check back next week for my favorite tips for an organized move.
It looks wonderful!! As a military family that moves every 3-4 years it would be nice to have someone like you come in for one of our moves and give me some direction. We do our best to pare down before a move (actually, I try to stay on top of it by working on it a few times a year!), but we always seem to have too many extras when it comes time to move. I feel like I’m always getting rid of things, yet we still have so much STUFF! lol Your blog is an inspiration to keep on working on it. 🙂
Thanks April! We typically move every 3 years too so I totally understand. I love working on projects like this one where I am able to meet with the client to get rid of the clutter before the move. That way when we unpack boxes we don’t have to ask if they want or use items.
I LOVE my new closet!! THANK YOU 🙂
Great blog and job. When I find my new house I will make sure to add a pop of color to my closet.
Me too! I love the orange, it makes me want to paint right now!
Wow-jealous! Such a pretty closet!
