My friends, I am writing today about a fabulous little invention called spray paint! I use it all of the time and I’m amazed at how quickly it can transform just about anything! At my Los Altos Estate Sale over the weekend there was an adorable set of black wicker nesting tables that didn’t sell and I was shocked… seriously shocked!
They were so darn cute, I thought they would sell in the first 20 minutes but they sat and sat. I heard a few customers comment that they didn’t like the color and I bit my tongue, I figured if they couldn’t see the potential of the fabulous trio they didn’t deserve them and I decided to buy them for myself.
Now this may not be the greatest transformation you have ever seen but THAT is the point! It shows how fast and easy spray paint is! It literally took me 25 minutes from start to finish to paint them!
I woke up early yesterday morning so I could roll my painting tarp out on the backyard and start spraying before it got too hot. I’ve had a few cans of spray paint in the color “Eden” that I decided to use up and I think they turned out great. The green matches my patio furniture (another overlooked estate sale rescue) and they really add a punch of color to the backyard. They also give me so much more table space for drinks and snacks when guests are over, win win!
I love the combination of modern design and with the classic wicker feel, it doesn’t get better than that!
Even Harper loves them, can you see her rolling around in the background? What a crazy dog!
I’m working on transforming our master bedroom right now as well. I’ve been wanting to get a new mattress but I’ve been waiting to find budget friendly bedding which I did this weekend. Can you believe I found this set of Serena & Lily sheets at HomeGoods?
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it on the shelf! I snagged the set and found a Nate Berkus comforter at Target to go with it. I hope to keep up with my good luck and finish the updates in the room soon so I can show all of you!
This week I’m working on a big estate sale project in Los Altos along with managing a big project on another home that is being prepped to go on the rental market and working with organizing clients (I’m tired just thinking about the week’s schedule)! Because I need extra time to get the estate preview for the blog together, Hot or Not?! will be on Thursday instead of Wednesday so stay tuned!
Love the tables!
I can’t wait to see your bedroom when finished, what a deal on the sheets.
Thanks Mom! I knew you would be proud of my estate sale purchase. Yes, I can’t believe the sheets were at HomeGoods. Chris and I went on Saturday night and found tons of cute things for our room and for Halloween.
Hi Amanda:
You are an energetic & amazing lady who I liken as a combination of Martha Stewart & The Pioneer Woman… only more down to earth! Another very nice (& easy) transformation with spray paint. Well done!
Thanks Nancy!
Love the nesting tables. If I didn’t have a vintage set already I would have bought them. You know that:-)
These look amazing. Great work. I’m hosting a Wall Decal giveaway that you should enter! http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/wall-decal-giveaway.html
love those tables, and that color you painted them. I have some wicker items I was thinking of painting in that same spring green. thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for commenting! I love that color green, it used to be the color of my guest room in Chicago!
